Easier skin color previews

currently the only way to see a certain skin on a dinosaur is to breed it, decide if you like the color and keep it or sell it and try a new one, rinse and repeat.
It would be nice if there was an update/patch where you can see exactly what the skin looks like on the dinosaur through the InGen database after you make it the first time, rather than just seeing the color shades in the incubation center next to the null gene model and hope you have an idea of what it will look like until its too late.
Plus if you’re like me and you play the game for a period, walk away for a few weeks, then come back to it, it can be a major pain having to remember what your favorite skins were for your favorite dinosaurs and having to breed a new batch of skins all over again just to find out. Having a reference to go to rather than waste all that time and money would be extremely helpful when making a new park and trying to match skins with enclosures to get that right feel for your park.

I have a skin guide favorited on steam, so I can switch on the Steam Overlay and can click a quick link to check it out.

What I do is go into the sandbox and check out all the skins there. I wasted a lot of time screwing around in the sandbox really. I also just choose a skin and just learn to live with what comes out of the hatchery. Not all the skins are bad and I wouldn't even say they bad. They just aren't as lively.

Some of them look better than others though. For example the raptor skins. While they don't look bad they are just kind of boring. Then you have skins like the Edmontosaurus Rainforest skin and Taiga skin and they look amazing. Another example would be the poor Parasaurolophus and it's boring skins. The best looking skin is the default. Then the others just look bland and uninspired. Yeah they are good at providing some more conservative colors like old style dinosaur art. But I swear two of the skins look nearly identical.

Then you have the Rex. It's best skin is the Wetland skin and it's locked away behind a challenge. Other than the default and one other skin the others suffer from the same problem I mentioned above. I know a lot of it was done because of time constraints. But they have time now and I would pay for a skin pack that changes the designs of the skins or even just some new colors.

I just wish there was more variety and consistency with the skins.

JPOG had a similar problem but they had it with the dinosaur models themselves. While some looked like people on the dev team put a lot of time and effort into the models some of the others didn't look as good. The big major carnivores looked the best. So did some the more well known herbivores. But then you had models like the Dryosaurs and the Gallimimus that didn't even have faces it looked like.

JWE doesn't have this issue. All the dinosaur models look amazing and the animations look just as good. Even then the problem with the skins isn't as severe as the JPOG model issue. But it's still noticeable and like I said I believe it was caused by the lack of time.

Also keep in mind that in JPOG we didn't even have a option for skins. There was no way to change the appearance in the game unless you were lucky to have the PC version and you modded some skins into the game. If you were on consoles you were stuck with the regular skins.

But in JWE someone on a console can choose to have a green colored raptor, a grey one or a yellow one. IMO that's a major improvement even if the skins aren't that interesting.
