Looking for the MOST CURRENT easy way to setup 2 elite dangerous PC accounts. I have one up and running for 4 years and debated whether to just 'start over' but in the end, I don't want to lose all the hard work. I decided to start a fresh account. Can I avoid some of the noted hassles if I just setup the new account on another hard drive? Any help would be appreciated, just don't want to convolute the process more than it needs to be.

It's even easier than that these days and you don't even have to install Elite twice.
Just copy EDLaunch.exe to "EDLaunch - Pilot2.exe" (or whatever name you fancy). Run "EDLaunch.exe" for your primary account, and the other one for your secondary account (you won't be able to run them at the same time though).
This works for standalone-Elite and Elite installed through Steam. Haven't tried it with the Oculus version yet.

If using gmail, both CMDRs can hang off the same e-mail address, as gmail treats "user+CMDR#1@gmail.com" and "user+CMDR#2@gmail.com" the same as "user@gmail.com" whereas the Frontier store will treat all three as unique e-mail addresses.
