Easy solution: How to enjoy open without toxic players

There's an easy way to enjoy the social aspects in open without being harassed:
- Get a ship with +500mj shields
- When being interdicted change pips to 4-2-0 and throttle down to submit
- boost once in random direction with 100% throttle and FA-off
- directly log out (15sec timer)
- usually they will not even manage to shot you in this short time
- switch to solo, do your thing and switch back to open to enjoy the interaction with the friendly community

The ganker will feel completely ignored. After it happens enough time he will be bored and will do something more productive.

Ignoring toxic people and not giving them more than 15sec of your attention is often the best solution in live.

And of course if you do that to gankers, you would be stupid to not do that to pirates as well. Or if you're a pirate, to do that to the bounty hunters or ATR NPCs coming for your bounty/notoriety. In fact you should do that in all 3 instances of gameplay where the game doesn't give you a big I-win button already.

It is easier to move away from the bubble, doesn't have to be too far, but even after around 200ly from Sol you will start to see less and less hollow squares and triangles. It is really peaceful away from the maddening crowds :D

Or, just high wake. Or low wake.

Or notice the trouble before you get interdicted, and fly defensively.

99% of players aren't even hostile anyway. 0.9% of those are actually useless and you can ignore.
0.05% of them actually fly a smaller ship you can simply low wake out from. And remainder you just high wake from.

I disagree! it's even more fun to start log off the very moment interception starts.. challenge anyone to intercept, drop SC, locate, deploy weapons, and cut through a Cutters pimped shields all within 15 seconds. Usually you're logged before guns start shooting.

Not that being a killjoy is enjoyable in ED!

While you may ofc disagree as much as you wish, that doesn't make it any less pathetic. :)

They should just get rid of all of it. Its made out to be like open is this exclusive club only available to murder hobos and the pvp elite

solution 1 ) Have just 1 mode (open) and have a switch in your functions for PvE or PvP , kinda like GTA5
solution 2 ) Split the game into 2 modes, Open PvP and Open PvE .


No more having to worry about ganking, unless you're willing to take a crack at it. :D

Inspired. I think you should post in the suggestions forum that FDEV should make an in game macro for this. Push a button to frustrate the gankers and us real players can get on with the game in peace.

Yeah a macro would be nice. They could even sell it in the store and it would finance the next free update. Double profit!

Its not that I am light skinned, I just don't have time for this. I need to protect humanity from aliens. You have to set priorities in life.

Its a little bit like when you have to go to an important job interview in time and a little confused bully wants to fight with you... nah no time for this right now buddy :)

Learn to stay in high security systems and stay away from the mass pvp systems. I've managed it for 4 years!

Your method just encourages combat logging and will drive pirates, pvpers and murderers out the game which are legit methods of play. Stay in solo matey if you don't like other players or join Mobious and PvE group.
