Ebuyer and Yodel Suck

I thought I might just treat myself last Thursday and buy a new GPU. Looked at a few places and ended up seeing the same deal at Amazon and Ebuyer.
Amazon was on a 2-3 day delivery even for Prime, basically Monday (Today). Ebuyer was offering next day for the small sum of £6 so what the hell, I want it now so I went for Ebuyer.

Friday comes I get an email from Yodel saying your package is on the way, cool, in the afternoon I look at the tracked 'expected 27th', cool. Nothing delivered. Talk to Yodel, sorry but it arrived at the depot too late for delivery today. Talk to Ebuyer, sorry heres a refund for next day delivery. Great, I worked from home on Friday so I could sign for it, I have no opportunity next week to work from home.

Checked Yodel, I can't get it delivered to a neighbour, I can't get it delivered to a collection point. I do have to be in for redelivery or I can go collect from the depot on Monday. Oh well I'll do that, sigh, the depot is about an hour away. Got there this evening, sat waiting for 20mins, sorry we seem to have lost it.

Rang Ebuyer, sorry about that but we cannot refund until we receive it back or Yodel admit they lost it and we claim the money from them.

So now I'm £££ down and have to wait until its found or declared officially lost before I order another one.

So yeah, they have been struck off my Christmas card list. Never liked Yodel and wouldn't have ordered from Ebuyer if I had known that is who they use. Won't be ordering from Ebuyer again.

I guess there is a morel in there somewhere about good thing are worth waiting for or some such nonsense

Agree with you 100% re Yodel. I have used eBuyer lots of times in the past but whenever they use Yodel they screw up somehow. Usually I pay for a specific delivery day, take that day off work and wait in for it (and other deliveries). Yodel do the usual "we tried to deliver" when clearly they didn't. On one occasion they said it had been delivered and they had no idea to whom they had delivered it!

FWIW, as a point of law, the seller is responsible for the goods until you receive them. If they are lost in transit, or mis-delivered, or can't be found - NOT your problem. The onus would be on them to contest this and otherwise prove you have received it - which clearly they would be unable to do.

I also saw that other post which somewhat flamed you for posting. I think it's good that you posted this - it makes other CMDRs aware of which companies are reliable to deal with and which are not when ordering components and gaming gear. So o7 CMDR.
