Engineers Eccentric Hyperspace Trajectories

I've been looking for these without much success. They seem to be rarer than polonium

I keep getting interdicted by Elite anacondas and FDLs. Sometimes, I decide to teach them a lesson, so I stay and fight, which can be a complete waste of time when they run away just when my victory is in sight.

I had my wake scanner with me because I had unsuccessfully been scanning wakes for EHTs, so when the last Anaconda did a runner, I thought it might be worth a try, and sure enough, it gave me an EHT.

Has anybody else tried that?

Strange, I just checked and I have 4. Only used a wake scanner once since horizons launched, that was briefly outside a station.

Funny, I just checked. I also have four. And that must have been from the same couple of minutes I spent outside MacKenzie Relay with the wake scanner a while back!
Maybe on that day the RNG decided Eccentric Hyperspace Trajectories were the flavour!

As I understand it, ship scan data depends on the ship type (wake scanning or basic scanning). The larger ships have the high chance of yielding rare data collection. Higher rank may also play a factor too.

In that case it's even worse. Wake scanning is something that doesn't easily slot in to everyone's play style, so you may end up dedicating time to doing wake scans. Sometimes it's hard enough just to get wakes spawning, never mind stacking on top of that it depends on the "quality" of ship that created the wake.

Wake scanning or even just data in general is something that should be ditched IMO.

Ooh eccentric you say?

I think I've found a couple in degraded emissions signal sources.

Weird, I never equipped a wake scanner...ever...(two weeks of playing time in statistics) and I have 6 EHTs. Jumped in many USSs but don't recall ever seeing any in there or specifically picking one up (although I might have and not noticed). Maybe it's enough to just target them with the default scanner? I've done plenty of those by mistake, when trying to target wanted ships for example...

Ah, yes...I did scan few private data beacons in USSs...that might be it...
