Economic Data Acquisition Missions too difficult?

These are the illegal level 8 danger missions. I originally thought I could fly in, scan the data port and fly out. That doesn't work; it requires the SRV. Nothing like the old missions where there were only a couple Skimmers to kill and then scan the terminal. There are 2-4 laser cannon placements around the site with lots of Skimmers. As soon as your ship gets in range they start shooting. You're already trespassing which generates a fine, and taking out the cannons with dumbfires and skimmers induces more fines. The terminal is in the middle of the installation and some have ramps you have to drive up to scan the terminal. The two missions I managed to complete cost ~$15K each in fines (not a big deal but still...). I made a video while running these missions but they're just too embarrassing to post! Even tougher with the SRV stalling every few moments...

Are there other ways to complete these missions? Park the ship outside the exclusion zone and drive in? Once the guns start shooting they can hit you a long ways away so your SRV is still in danger driving back to the ship.

o7 Commanders.

Scorpion makes them fairly simple.
The fine/bounty is just an expense, if you want to keep your profit margin decent, don't shoot stuff.

These are doable from the ship if you're quick and have a small enough ship to get in and target the beacon.

So the ideal vessel for the job is something small, fast, and with good shields for its size.

well would you look at that

I’ve never tried scanning terminals with the Scorpion. Didn’t know it had a scanner.
The thing the Scorpion lacks is that bleeping wave scanner thing that finds meteorites and abandoned stuff from beyond visual range it has data and composition scanners like all other manned vehicles as long as you bound them.
