Hi
Parts of Elite are putting off players who perhaps only have 10-20 hours a month to play due to family, work comitments
1. I wonder if import/export information can be shown for 30 days (if out of date data) is toggled
2. Further, where you have visited a system, and one or more starports, instead of showing imported-to or exported-from, show the average or best price in its place for the system (marked as current or out of date as per point 1). This could probably be stored and recalled on the client as it is player specific data
3. The galactic average is not that useful given the scale, a drop-down option for the average of all stations where you have got prices in either the last 24 hours, or the last 30 days (but marked as out of date) to get a regional data, positioned in the same drop-down section as the "galactic average" option. Again this should be data which can be stored with the player locally once acquired until it expires after 30 days. You could even expand this to offer best known sale destination as a further dropdown option from player gathered data within the last 24 hours (or 30 days), as the client is likely to store only small amounts of information, the search cost of getting this information would also be quick and client-side
4. Slightly less useful but possibly important would be trends within the above client data, simply, where you have got prices from the same starport within 14 days, you could show the trend as simply highlighting the imported-from/exported-to (or price if showing price) as green or red if price movement is above or below a change threshold. Again this would be player data gathered not global data
I think this would encourage those who feel disillusioned with the time investment needed by the game as it stands, as it is clearly alienating some customers (some people I know who are not happy)
