Hello CMDRs
I've recently bought the game after hearing about the economic warfare of Powerplay. Currently I'm trading with a type 6 within the region of my power. I'm interested in converting the low profit control systems in my powerplay region into high profit control systems via trade. I realize Edmund Mahon has agricultural benefits and a large amount of trade. This has a nice positive effect similar in many trading games of producing a large content population. Conversely Archon Delaine has high amounts of piracy, murder in his region. These actions and benefits have a negative effect on producing a bustling economy since food and medicines don't receive a bonus in this power and are largely avoided. I've read about the background simulation and how to affect change within a system. So my questions are:
1. Can trade transform low profit into high profit control systems to increase CC income?
2. Can trade increase planetary populations and make more productive systems?
3. Can trade decrease a systems income (famine) if taking food/medicines from the system into a different region. Example I buy food from a neighboring power and sell the food to my power. Or I focus on buying food and selling to my power to create a shortage in the target system.
Would it simply be easier to use smuggling to devalue a rival power's economic advantage to degrade the target system into a low profit system?
My primary goal is to increase my power's CC income and raise the value of the system without running fortification packages.
