Reading this makes me wish there was crossplay between the PC and xbox versions.
I believe at some-point there may well be, although that could be many, many years away yet.
There was an old Dev comment before X-box became a thing where they were talking about how the background sim was the same but you couldn't meet in-game. Back then they seemed highly enthusiastic about the idea but it's obviously a nightmare to implement especially with frequent ongoing updates and there will be opposition from players on both sides.
Possibly when we get to the stage of 1-2 major updates per year they may consider looking at it again, possibly also with PS4 assuming that joins the fun and that there isn't a new generation of consoles out by this point![]()
I'm keeping my fingers crossed because the Xbox version seems sparsely populated.
Great to see Elite is up there on sales on Steam, But...
Reading the Steam forums has been the highlight of my day. Amazes me that people don't research, YouTube, and or use the search feature on the forums about games that actually take a few more brain cells then most games to get an understanding of how things work. I used to post on Elite's Steam forums often, but have got sick and tired of the usual Steam trolling replies. But if you want to kill some time, head on over and read some, past my lunch time quickly.
To the few Steam posters that have replied with thanks, welcome to Elite Cmdr's <O
Correct me if I am wrong, that game is just the base game, not horizons which will next year then become the base game I guess. I would think many buying may not know that and so expect some moaning to come.
Still it is good news for FD and for us![]()
I just hope there isn't a massive backlash when, imminently, thousands of unobservant new commanders discover that they are not eligible for Horizons.
There are enough people who have played the entirety of season one, who loudly share their feeling ripped off.
