ED and Samsung Odyssey

Hi,

I am rather new to ED and played a bit more than 25 hours, on standard screen with hotas.

Yesterday I purchased a Samsung Odyssey, hoping to get a very good experience. So far despite struggling on the galaxy map it is going fine.

Looking forward to improve my experience I just installed ED Profiler. I see quite a few posts on HTC/Rift but not so many on Odyssey... anyone running a similar setup? If so, what would be reccommendations on settings (assuming i7 7700+16go, 1080GTX). So far I am using maxed settings with HMD@2.0 and SS@1.25 but I guess there are better ratio combinations or specifics.

Cheers,

I wish I could run 1.25 as and hmd at 2.0. with max settings.
I get stutter at 1.0ss and 1.5 hmd around the big stations and very busy Rez sites.
I have a 2700k @ 4.7 GHz and a heavily overclocked gtx1080ti

Something's not right..

Actually I'm using this setting with my Odyssey and ED on SSD, i5 6600K @4.6 16 Gb DDR4 3600 and a 1080Ti not OC.
On Steam VR beta: reprojection on. SS 100 (manual)
On WMR beta setting: 90 hz (very high beta)
On the game (via ED profiler): most settings in high/ultra (Shadow, Ambient Ocl, FX and Galaxy map qualities in Medium). HMD quality 1.75, SS 1.0, SMAA on.

The Reprojection indicator only goes dark blue (reprojection in action because GPU limitation) on station and planets, rest of the time is in green (reprojection is not in action). FPS always 90 and all (text included) looks very good.

I actually bumped my hmd quality up to 1.75 last night and FPS wise it stays pretty much the same but definitely looks sharper and nicer.
Don't know why I didn't try sooner lol - might as well put all that tasty 1080ti vram to use! Stays 90 most of the time except in stations and highly populated Res sites so happy days

Thanks for the reply, I came up with some pretty stable settings I believe... HMD@2 and SS@100... Steamvr @100%.

What I find the most annoying is I am getting some strange lights reflections : The bottom instrument panel have a permanent glare, and the ones from other lightsources in stations etc are the same... : persistent unatural light reflection feeling.

Sure it's not the floodlights around the cockpit? When I turn.....forgot the setting name now, bloom maybe?....on, the two lights up high on my Krait always cast a weird light pattern directly into the field of view.

I'm also running low/medium settings, though. Might be less of an issue if I could turn everything up.

Check your steam supersamoling settings. With a high spec gpu Steam sets it too high go by default IMO. Eg for fallout 4 I had to turn it down quite a bit to a total of 1.25 and that helped a ton for smooth performance. With a 1080ti.
