ED Bearing gone?

Ok but. did not the FSS and DSS make all this point less... As the probes highlight every single thing now to the nav panel...
This was the reason Fdev removed the need to learn it...
Fss scans planet and says Hold on what this... So then you fly to planet and probe it and then every single thing shows up on nav pannel...
This is a good point actually ... the need to note down and get to specific coordinates has been greatly diminished now ... in fact, for anything placed by FD I can't think off the top of my head of a single need to do this now. Of course for player created planetary content (e.g. the waypoints of a planetary expedition or for getting to the start line of a race event) it's still a good skill to learn ... at least until we get the ability to place planetary bookmarks.

Yes, just to, uhm, mention two totally random examples :p...

I have some semblance of a basic brain, and I can use that moderately well to find my way around a planetary surface, but honestly I can also use those very limited resources available to take care of how to conduct the SRV or enjoy the views. E.D.I.S.O.N. for the win!

I always found the simplest technique was to establish an orbit at 0° latitude flying at 90° on the compass until teaching the desired longitude, then turning to fly directly north or south till I reached the desired latitude. Not the fastest method but no tools required.

.. or simply ..
