Hardware & Technical ED: CH Fighterstick - It's Too Sensitive

Hi folks,

I've watched a number of Youtube and read a number of the threads on the forums but I can't seem to get a definite answer or setting for my CHFS in ED. I've seen actual actual gameplay and the person controlling the FS with ease but I can't seem to get it right. I've got it configured as close as I can but it hurts that I can't keep my target relatively centred on my screen. The ship pitches or yaws (instead of rolling) too much on the stick. Here's a screenshot of my CHCM X & Y settings:

A friend of mine who uses Saitek said that I should try to input curve values of 600 - 650 with a deadzone of 50. I can't figure out where to put 600 - 650 as the CHCM only goes up to 100. I'm not entirely sure if the deadzone even does anything for me.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I can fine tune my stick?

Much appreciated!

I only have a CH Pro Throttle but I do use these curves ... I would suggest making the curve flatten at the centre, i.e. the other way to what you have now. At the moment I think you are amplifying small movements instead of damping them. Look at the indicator in the calibration screen, it shows you the physical position (larger yellow circle) and the logical position (smaller green circle) as you move the controller, you want the logical position trailing the physical position at the centre, and then catching up at the extremes.

edit: with the curves flattened you probably don't need deadzones at all. Deadzone = sudden transition from input to no input; curve = gradual transition which feels nicer and more controllable IMO.

huwthomas: That did it man! Thanks for the protip! I just did all the combat training missions and I had no issues keeping everyone in my sight and taking them down.

Zeeman: Yeah! I didn't notice I flagged that as on. That does help actually!

For the rest, thank you as well! Glad to know there are some helpful people!

OMG. This CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle is so buttery smooth. I just spent 3 hours playing ED. Thanks again folks. :)
