ED classy touch or just luck

I started gamma in LTT 15449, and immediately noticed that 2 of the 7 stations in the system are named after the two most famous italian astronauts (Guidoni and Malerba) ... I am italian and just 6 fellow nationals made it to the stars; if it is somehow a game feature it's definitely a classy touch, if it is not it's an amazing coincidence.
And on top of that they are now both in a show airing on italian TV while I'm docked at a station named after one of them. Incredible. :eek:

There's actually a few people working on this that know their stuff about space... Some of them even went to University.

On my quest to get to Earth today I stopped at a system with some clearly manually entered names. There was a J.F. kennedy station, a 'New Moon' and some other clearly not random things in the same system... I think the system was ETA Cessiope or something like that.

My guess is stuff like this is either things FDEV put for historic reasons or names requested during kickstarter.

I think he's actually questioning whether the "random" starting location wasn't so random, and was in fact biased based upon his geographical location.

Well if that is the case I feel a bit hard done by. I've not seen a 'Blairs folly', 'Thatchers claim' or ..... hmm (wrong theme). Actually there was 'Beagle 2 landing', 'Cox Ring' and 'Bradford Orbital' in beta.

Sadly I expects the 'Cox ring' has been renamed and god only knows what Bradford did for space exploration!

I've seen a Planet Lister (boys from the Dwarrrrf!), and just picked up my Freagle at Crampton Port - which I assume has to be a pun on Hampton Court.

Personally? I love it.

I too am starting in LTT 15449, Bose station...but I'm currently in the US. I think there's probably an algorithm that distributes players somewhat evenly throughout Fed space.

Where I'm at, there's at least two stations that strike a chord. First is the "Kaku Orbital" in Chemaku, and the second... "Gooch Terminal" in Aiabiko.
