ED constantly surprises me

This might be old news for the explorers here but I was genuinely surprised by this otherwise bland water world.
Approaching from the dark side and flying in close around the equator I discovered these intriguing "Islands" They appeared to glow from a distance and have a greenish tinge to them, possible floating living Islands perhaps?
The planet had no signs of ice or polar caps.

Nice finding CMDR!

Yes, not news but not very common either! Very nice to find a water world with your own private Hawaii!

Granted, the waves might be a little too rough but, hey, that's owning an island like a boss!

repped!

Based on your scanner... i'm wondering if there weren't a second star in this system that slightly illuminate the darkside of this planet.
(Screenshot #2, in the low left hand of the scanner, isn't it a star ?)

Just wondering, but it's an amazing discovery.

Yes, this was a binary system. Star A G type, Star B M type Red Dwarf.
This water world was actually orbiting the Red Dwarf!
Some very nice views from Hawaii Island.

Yea, that reminds me of the very first WW I ever discovered. I flew over it quite a lot and spotted a nice tiny group of islands. This will become my holiday resort some day.

Yeah, if you have time it can sometimes be worth the trip flying around the planets looking for islands. I wish I'd got a closer picture of this planet as there are two clusters plus a smaller solitary island off to the bottom right.

I've already earmarked Placet 3 for my retirement. The views with the ring system and the Milky Way should be amazing:
