Newcomer / Intro ED dreams...

Does anyone have dreams about ED? Strangely I woke up this morning with the last dream of the night still fresh in my mind. I dreamed I sold off all my ships and bought a DBX, fully A rated and just headed out into the black. Dunno why but thought it was strange. Not interested in doing that but it did make me go to my Inara account to see what level my credits and assets were at and I could do it. Oh yeah, I wasn't playing the game, I was IN the game. Even stranger I suppose... Being a child of the late 60's, early 70's I'm guessing all those things I "experienced" are coming back to play some more. hahaha

Not since season 1.

Tried a thread about this back then, it got to 40 responses, hope this thread does better.

Not dreamed about it, but when I was sneaking up on my partner in order to you know why, I thought "frame shift drive charging ... four ... three ... two ... one ... engage". Silly, I know. :) I really enjoy flying around in ED and I love the count down to supercruise and hyperjump.

Here in SW England I can see Solsbury Hill from the back of my window, (Peter Gabriel released a hit single singing about it back in the 70s-google it for more info) which used to have an Iron Age settlement.

Not long after Horizons was released I dreamt we also had atmospheric landings. I figured such a place would still be intact in 3302 as it's already stayed pretty much the same for the last 3000 years or so and another 1300 wouldn't make much difference.

So in my dream I landed my Python on the top of the hill and drove the SRV to where my house "used" to be 1300 years previously. Guess what, the area was under water. Thanks FD, you made global warming submerge my home city! (In the dream only of course) [smile]

It's no big secret, only docking computer users have something to hide...

Your sig. is totally sexist btw, did you ever get with TNG?

It is a quote form Star Trek - well the first part - so don't blame me - and I give a damn about TNG. I don't feel offended by it - man is as well the identifier for an individual of the species, not specifically referring to a gender.

It was nicer before they built that damn great by-pass on the lower slopes :)

I imagine you know Mr. Gabriel has a studio in Box too. Which is also home to one of the finest pubs in the world, The Quarryman's Arms :)

More "on topic"... I do have dreams which involve flying around systems scanning planets, even to the point of turning my head to look out the side window of my Asp as something slips past.

What I find more intriguing is the number of places in the Real World (TM) where sounds remind me of subtle things like the DSS scanner, for example!

Yes indeed a fine establishment! I wonder if it's there in 3304? And nice views from the Swan Inn in Kingsdown if you know that part of the world.

I do indeed! I certainly hope nothing has changed at all in the area by 3304, and the Quarrymans still does great beer to drink either sat outside, or at the big picture-window looking over to Colerene on a wintery day :) I used to like going down to the Duck and Punt in Batheaston for a convivial lunch with friends followed by hiring a boat to row up river, but that is now a set of luxury apartments...

More like nightmares, although it's not always Elite: Dangerous related since I'm sometimes not flying in any visible ship.
However, I occasionally dream about flying close to stars, only to be stuck in a star's gravity well until I overheat and die.

I don't recall ever dying to stars/overheating in Elite Dangerous. I think I did in some other and older space sim games, like Independence War / I-War.

I think your dreams tell you to do it in elite, just get it over with and you will see it ends...just don't get addicted ;)
