ED featured on CV1 launch livestream... view looks restricted?

Hi guys,
I was watching the Giant bomb livestream of the CV1 launch yesterday, eager to see them try ED. They do around 4 hours in

The view seems very restricted / zoomed in compared with my monitor... is this normal? Was it a bug?

I've been in occasional contact with the guy trying it (Drew) about ED for a long time now, and would like to pass on any info from the community here (as well as find out for myself).

Anyone with experience? ghcannon?

Ha... that so called clunky implementation so they say... Well I reckon that clunky game has sold more Rift headsets than any other of those games.. Respect to FD.

hopefully not due to a poor FOV. did they try resetting the camera at all? only partly into it now but watching them is truly painful.

(edit)
and 30 s later got to the point when they reset the camera!!! ;) and it does not fix it :(

ok so that does look to me like a terrible FOV, if they cant even see all of the front dsplay, stuff like chaff etc without looking to one side.

i hope this can be improved.

Heh, I think they were talking about the launcher rather than the game... eveything else is integrated into the Oculus store, and was designed for Oculus :).

I was wincing too, but they were streaming all day trying to cover all 30 launch games (there's another 5 hour video as well); 4 hours in I cut them some slack.

They tried resetting with F12, but apparently that made it worse. Drew did say that unlike Project Cars, he would like playing ED in VR though

I hate people playing and commenting on games without knowing how to play the games (and set them up) in the first place. Pointless really....

When you capture off the monitor feed, it's cropped in. So, no the FOV is wider in the Rift. Or at least that's what I see with the DK2 on 1.3.
