ED flight sim pod

Has any discussion been brought up about building something along the lines of the old Battletech tesla pods. Google it if you've never seen one.

Some off the shelf keyboard emulators, HOTAS, multiple monitors, etc since the old Tesla pods are running out of their custom parts these days. Might be a bit much for a home gamer but they could be useful for conventions and such.

I'd love to build such a thing but ED lacks any sort of API for that, and poking around inside the memory for a game that is very much in development right now makes little sense.

So I'd say, until ED is released, and/or Frontier do a little interface to let third party programs access data from a running game client, it's kinda unlikely to become reality.

Unless you just want a pod and some screens without actual functioning switches and whatnot.

I would definitely get severe motion sickness in that, I don't think you'd want me anywhere near it.

This reminds me, many moons ago, when I were a lad and Tomorrow's World was still on telly, they had a bloke developing a giant "ping pong ball" on rollers with Doom 2 projected onto it from the outside. As you walked you walked the ball would rotate and move you around the game, while the gun you held would be tracked for targeting the demons. Looked awesome and very immersive considering the old VR rigs back then were horrible especially if you didn't learn to look with your head rather than your eyes which is one thing that has put me off getting the Rift.
Imagine if micro projectors beamed the image around you onto the inside wall of the pod so you could glance to the left without having to turn your head for instance.
