Hardware & Technical ED Horions spec check

I'm almost ready to purchase ED Horizons, but before I do I want to double check my current rig is capable of running it, I've done some research and believe I should be OK, but wanted a 2nd opinion from existing players, system builders and/or the Devs.

This is my current set-up:
Asus A88X-GAMER Motherboard
AMD Quad Core (A10-7870K) 3.9 GHz APU
Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866MHz DDR3 RAM

Nothing fancy compared to a full gaming rig and no dedicated GPU (yet!), but I'm hoping the APU combined with the large amount of RAM should be enough.

I have no dedicated video card, the A10-7870k APU has a total of 12 cores, 4 x CPU & 8 x GPU, from what I understand it's essentially an R7 250, but without the dedicated memory.

I've went this route as it was easier to convince the missus I needed an expensive CPU and 16Gb RAM than it was to justify a huge video card - also the immediate upgrade path only requires a relatively cheap low end card (another R7 250) which runs together with the APU, again easier to justify when the time comes :)

Good plan and nice thinking.

You will need a pretty impressive video card though. If I may, I suggest you hold on, even if you can convince your better half to let you spend more. Next year, Rift will be launched. In itself, probably not of great concern to you, but it should stimulate a new round of Video Card technologies as manufacturers compete for what should be, an interesting market.

You may get on on some coat tails there and even pick up a bargain.
