Engineers ED Horizons Engineers Goals

As my favorite ships are Imperial Cutter (one full battle gear and another a trade ship), Anaconda (for exploration), Asp Explorer (for mission running) and Orca (for luxury trip to Beagle Point), I want them all to have the Engineering upgrades!

So I devised a roadmap:
1. Create my most efficient material-gathering starship. My primary ship would be my Imperial Cutter--equipped for mining, for battling elite NPCs upon interdiction, for bounty hunting on RES/NAV/CZ, for mission running and trading large quantities of cargo. My helper ship is the Asp Explorer, for fetching faraway stuffs (like the meta alloys for Farseer) and docking to outposts when required.
2. Upgrade FSD to level 5, for my primary and secondary starships. That would make errand running more efficient in the long term.
3. Upgrade Imperial Cutter's weapons (level 2) and distributor (level 3-4) to the Dweller. That would make fighting NPC ships a little better.
4. Upgrade Imperial Cutter's shields and boosters to Lei for better combat endurance.
5. Upgrade Imperial Cutter's power plant through Hera Tani at least to level 3. That way I can equip more power hungry modules (i.e. 8A thrusters).
6. Upgrade Imperial Cutter's thrusters through Prof Palin.
7. Discover the rest of the engineers.
8. Upgrade the rest of the fleet, starting with the Anaconda, Asp Explorer, trade Cutter and the Orca
9. Finalize the ultimate dream ship: A fully upgraded battle Imperial Cutter!

So far I have accomplished 1-4, and currently on my way to achieving 5.

Just sharing my long term plans and I'm as interested in reading yours. :)

Looks like your long term plans arn't that long if you have done 1-4 already. My engineering long term plan is to actually visit one. I'm going on an exploration expedition that will last a couple of months, so probably when I get back.

I'm not sure when I can achieve 6 (it will only be possible once the Sirius permit bug is fixed)

There are still 10 unknown engineers, so it will probably take a few months to achieve 7.

Achieving 8 will take probably another month or two.

9, if ever I can realize it, will probably be done in a year, since I'll also do some exploration, especially the Formidine expedition and Beagle Point pilgrimage.
