If you ignore all the stuff that isn't great about it, it's totally the greatest spa-hold on...

Let's see what that leaves us...

It's definitely the best up-close vista generator for taupe planets without atmosphere I know of. Even universe sandbox doesn't do that as well. some of the voice-work is really good, too!

I post a "ED is great" thread and it gets two pages of replies. I post "weapons colors=horse armor" and it's already at 10 pages. Me thinks a lot of people need a hug, and more ED!!!

Can't be the greatest ever. That is reserved for future releases of ED

There is that other space sim, it might also be a very good game, better than ED in many respects, but the tiny galaxy will mean it will never replace ED in my heart, nor ED's lore which has been part of my life since i first read the Dark Wheel.

Freespace was excellent. So was X-wing.

And FWIW, I never had the level of "WHY?! WHY??!?!" with those games' design as I've had with Elite.
