ED Music playlsit

Not sure if anyone else does this, but with a lot of games I like to make a playlist in Spotify and play my own custom music while I am playing certain games. I did this a lot for Rebel Galaxy on the ps4 and others. Just wondering if anyone else does this and what will be on your playlist to use while playing ED. I wont play music all the time but maybe on some long flights to pass the time I will turn on my playlist and jam out while cruising around.

If I'm not listening to the in-game music, which is awesomely atmospheric btw, I often listen to Lave Radio ( http://laveradio.com/ ) or Hutton Orbital Radio ( http://huttonorbital.com/ ). Another radio station people like is Radio Sidewinder ( https://www.radiosidewinder.com/ ), though I've not tuned in myself.

Yeah I have listened to them just to see and I like them, but don't think we will be able to play through ps4 unless there is a way we can. Maybe someone can clarify that for me.

I was thinking about just this on the train home yesterday actually. I don't generally play music alongside games, but have on occasion in large ones (big RPGs, GTA, etc...). However I think I might for Elite as I'm sure space trucking could sometimes use a little soundtrack. :) Not pulled a list together yet though so will give it some thought.

Yeah I am the same way, I don't do it much but with games like this it will be perfect from time to time. Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack would be a good choice for this game lol

I wouldn't know either, but I often use a tablet / spare laptop connected to a pair of external speakers for the music, kind of like having an in-ship radio to listen to. I prefer it that way as I find it keeps the sounds separate better, and allows me to mess with the volume during the live broadcasts when talking is going on, without the sounds of a jump / battle suddenly blasting the neighbors :)

Glad this is not just me. I've been thinking about this way too much. I'm actually paying for Apple Music and Spotify because I can't decide on a service now that I have a PS4 and I can stream Spotify whilst playing.

I am sure the music/sounds in Elite Dangerous are great and I do want to take them in but I want to do some exploring and I will spend a lot of that time listening to music which I think will complement the game but also just stuff I like listening to. For the former, lots of ambient/electronica like Aphex Twin, The Orb, Brian Eno, Tycho, various work/concentration playlists I have. For the latter, anything really I have very eclectic tastes and like all genres but some definitely Jazz and Classical. I'm even toying with the idea of something more uptempo for when I am flying round the RES sites looking for bounties!

Actually, that sounds like it's time for a tip :)

At some point get out in any ship, come to a halt in real space where you can only see the nearby planet, sun and station by turning in their direction, then turn off the music, turn the volume up high, turn off flight assist and start a very slow spin. The soundscape in Elite Dangerous is utterly amazing, there are so manay little queues and clues that are almost subliminal, let alone the varied sounds each individual ship makes (want to see if your morse is still up to scratch? head to the nearest nav point, get right up to the nav beacon and translate the morse it's transmitting<g>)

I do agree the sounds the ship makes is so awesome. And the headset I have covers both my ears so i can hear everything perfectly.

It's more than just the ships though, the stars make their own sounds, the stations and planets make their own sounds, each thing in the game seems to have it's own asspociated sound, even just pointing at the milky way brings something to the ears. ED has what I consider to be the best soundscape of all the games I've played, and I've been playing games since the 70s :)

Damn now you're making my wait harder now lol can't wait

*grins* Sorry! :) But there are times when I'm bouncing from station to station on some trade route, or whatever else it is I'm doing, and have to remind myself just to stop and listen, at which point I get awed by the game all over again

The soundtrack for No Man's Sky is spectacular, and something I'd definitely recommend (one of the highlights of the game, imo).

"No Man's Sky: Music For An Infinite Universe" by 65daysofstatic. I hear their other albums are equally great, though haven't listened to any yet.

Agreed! I have The Fall of Math by them as well. I bought it after getting the NMS soundtrack, and think it's great. I should get their other albums as well :)
