ED (non Steam) Link vs Virtual Desktop

Hello Commanders,

I am about to buy QUEST 2 and I want to play Elite Dangerous which is a NON STEAM version..
Is it possible to find the game via Virtual Desktop?
Do I need a type C cable to be able to play?

Which of the two has the best image quality, low latency.

i have the quest 2 and love it and mainly play ED with my friend. I've used both the usb-c cable (OCuLink Cables) and also via virtual desktop. I've had a couple of stutters and freezes using virtual desktop but i've not tried tweaking things. Using the cable is flawless for me.

If you have any other questions please ask.

I use Q2 with virtual desktop and it works great if have a good router setup.

For VR you might need to use the older GPU drivers if it's stuttering bad in game.

It did take some time learning how to get it all going, but it's worth it.
