ED numbers: Just 32k to go to 2M

32k to go for 2M pounds pledged and 50 to go for 36k backers. Thank you everyone! Also because of anniversary we got nice 3k views rush to Elite Dangerous Wikia, which also hosts only up to date FAQ so far. Famious battle ship video keep moving forward 200k views, and last two dev diaries (giving details about creation of video and showing off landings of Imperial Eagle and Cobra MKIII, and second one with alpha/beta announcement) also got increased views.

Interesting how number of threads and members of forums have increased over time during this year since KS?

Since there aren't going to be NDA's flying about I expect to see a lot of coverage of the Alpha on YouTube. I'm pretty sure that is going to cause a spurt in funding and general interest in the project.

We've come a long way since the Kickstarter. At the end of the Kickstarter the figures from KS show 25,681 backers and £1,578,316 pledged. There were also some paypal backers but I can't find the numbers for that. So in the space of 11 months we've added around 10,000 backers despite having virtually no publicity in the mainstream gaming media for most of that time. Once we have a game to show people who knows how many people we will get?

I am going make a mad prediction of 54321 backers after Alpha/Beta is done and we get the infamous gamma version.;)

Definitely so. I'm sure we'll see a healthy bump on money and pledgers during the Alpha.

Depends on if/when they close the pledging down. Not that I see any reason for them to do so, but it is also a possibility.

Was wondering. I hope to see some vids alright. And we will see many people report around here I am sure. We can check the likes.

I wonder if kickstarter has any features for users to display a graph of pledges.

That would be an interesting thing to see and I would fully expect to see spikes correlating to milestones or video releases and other promotional events. I guess the trick is to not leave too big a gap between these releases to keep the game in the public's mind.

When we get to a point where there is product that we can get a hands on, and hopefully some of the bigger YouTuber's are on here and have access that will open it up to a much bigger audience. Having an audience of millions of viewers wondering "What's this Elite:Dangerous thing all about then?" could lead to a massive influx of people, money and ideas.

Really pleased to see the backer numbers still going up. Hopefully with a few alpha videos being produced in December there will be another rush

I would of thought the pledge system will remain open.
Alpha will be a big publicity event for the game essentially. With more footage, descriptions etc, people will see and trust more in this game, or even here about it for first time and want a slice! So FD would be silly to close the pledges down.

Might tweak them maybe?!

I think pledge system will remain open in alpha and beta test ;)
