ED Oculus home install

Quick question, decided to redeem my key for Oculus home, it is now running through 8.2gb download :/ What exactly is it downloading? The game is already installed on my PC. I thought the key simply lets me run the game directly from inside the rift.

You are downloading the game again through the oculus store, if you already have it and play in VR, i don't see the point in running through oculus

Yeah I noticed it was a complete install. It didn't take too long in the end, just seemed strange that it had to install another copy of the game.

I installed Oculus Home the other day in readiness for my Rift.

There was an option to allow Oculus Home to launch non-Oculus-bought software. Just like you can launch non-Steam titles from within Steam.
