ED/OH question

In order to take advantage of Dash functions like pinning windows in game, I need to run ED via OH, right? I have the FDev standalone version installed, and over the years I have noticed that it is as easy as copy and paste to move it around as long as you get all the necessary files, the needed runtimes are installed and your shortcuts point to the right place.

Can I just get an Oculus key from Frontier and copy the ED files to the right location to save on limited downloads?

Ta.

I don't use the oculus version of the game.

I just put on the rift and open the dash desktop.
If you then pin a window somewhere and highlight the game window through the dash system it will remain pinned in view as you play.

If I however use my VA macro to focus the game like I once did I would loose the pinned window.
In short you just need to go back into game through the dash interface.

It is not possible to my knowledge, you'll have to redownload.

PS. Please don't use silly colours to post if you want replies.

Sorry about the colour, I don't know how that happened, but it should be fixed now... maybe...
Actually i use the light color forum theme "Pastels" and bright text is impossible to read for me unless the text is cursor marked...

With regards to the main topic!
In case the release notes of Frontier Devs are correct and complete the current version of ED still doesn't support an Oculus runtime that is needed for proper Oculus Dash support.
Look here...

Dash still works when not running from OH, but when you open dash up you'll be taken out of your ship and into a void space. So it can be more difficult to get windows pinned in the correct spot in your cockpit when you can't see the cockpit.

This ^^^

It's not essential to install ED under Oculus home. You can still pin Dash windows, just not quite so accurately or elegantly.
