ED profiler won't install

hi folks. have a question.
recently bought a VR headset so thought it would be useful to install Dr Kaii's ED Profiler (http://www.drkaii.com/tools/edprofiler)
seems have nice tool to have to switch between settings.

However, when I attempt to install it, it comes up with a message saying that:

"your administrator has blocked this application because it potentially poses a security risk to your computer."
Name EDProfiler

Unknown Publisher.

Does anyone know how to get round this or had a similar experience?

I'm on Win10 Home

It's a .application file, not a .exe.
for some reason I don't have the 'run as administrator' option when rightclicking.
my user does have administrator rights though, so I'm a bit confused as to why this wouldn't install...

Hold Shift and right click?
I’ve seen this when local machine policies are set too.
Some anti-virus programs can also do this.
Consult the oracle of Google as well.

I say this only because of the sheer number of possible causes, we could flood the forums with “Did you try...”, and I’m not up for walking a non-admin through machine policy.

thanks for the response.
tried looking on google but couldn't find anything that matched or resolved the issue.
tried various UAC and smartscreen settings and unblock options but none worked.

went onto the site of dr kaii again and re-downloaded. now i have a setup.exe file (which for some reason i didn't have before). I can rightclick and run as admin but then get the same issue.

any further help would be appreciated.

If you go to file location and right click for 'properties ' , at the bottom is there an option to unclick a box that says 'block ?

I'm having the same problem and I can't find a solution and the One click installer it's not working too. I need to discover how to edit the registry to fix it...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I just came across this issue with the EDProfiler and since the link for the registry edit above is now lo longer working, here's the answer

Basically, navigate to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\.NETFramework\Security\TrustManager\PromptingLevel. Then set the keys as shown

These are the default values required for ClickOnce to be able to install and deliver application updates. Its not sure what sets them to "Disabled", probably overly-zealous AV software!
