So far this looks like a big rumour because this info is only spread around forums and not so serious websites where people are fast to pick up such things. Checking on finance related platforms or serious game industry sites shows no hard facts to back up those rumours. So take this with a big ocean of salt

There are plenty of original ideas out there it's just that they're harder to market. If I say DOOM 5, more people are going to click the link than FLURB WAR 9000. Human nature.

Marketing is dumb. How did DOOM become DOOM? No one knew what it was before it became DOOM. Oh, that's right - they actually made good product instead of good marketing.
