ED Star Map site?

Am I using this site wrong? I l registered, downloaded and ran the application that tells me where I am docked, my ship info etc, got the PKI key but on this site do I have to manually update something to show where I have been?? if I open my "travel map" I get this only* attached

What application are you using?

Elite Dangerous Market Connector doesn't send flight logs to ESDM by default unless you enable it.
File, Settings, EDSM, enable it and enter your commander name (as registered on the EDSM web site) and your API key.

If you want a map I would recommend using EDDiscovery in addition to EDMC. It syncs to EDSM too, but it also logs everything locally in more detail so you can look up details about the places and planets you've visited.
It can also generate 2D and 3D maps on your PC.

go to flight logs on edsm. then import netlog. drag and drop. and then do that ^ to keep it current.

EDDiscovery also does some cool stuff if you run it while in space. i found it would tell me scan results with voice and the system i just jumped to, how much fuel i just scooped. and it sync to EDSM so you dont need to mess around with drag and drop anything.
EDSM commander map made me glad i stuck to solo - i knew there were many explorers in deep space but the sheer numbers all over the galaxy shocked me and made me glad i didnt risk open while 14000 ly from the bubble. even tho fellow explorers are not likely to gank me... you can never tell.

I think you've over estimated the ratio of commanders to the number of stars. Yes, you can see that there are a lot of players in deep space, but the odds of actually running into one are literally astronomical.
The density of players vs the density of stars is so far apart you are mathematically alone unless you deliberately plan a meetup.

I've been in Open in the black for 18 months and I crossed paths with two commanders. All meetings were by prior arrangement - the chances of stumbling over someone are vanishingly small.

thats not how my luck works in games or real life. if there was one ganker out there pretending to be an explorer, and he never met anyone else i can guarantee he and i would run across each other and i will probably die. :D

If a ganker was out in deep space he would get very bored very quickly since there's virtually nobody out there to gank.
Why would a ganker spend hours or days traveling deep space looking for someone to grief?
Even if they targeted you, tracked you in EDSM and found you, they would have spent hours making hundreds of jumps just to maybe find one person for a few minutes of griefing.

BTW, you can keep your flight log on EDSM private if you're paranoid.
You can see from my signature that I'm not paranoid. If someone wants to find me, they are welcome. I normally fly in the Fleetcom private group.

In any case, since there's virtually no chance of running into anyone, there's really no reason to be in open and you get better screenshots when you're in solo.
