ED Steamcharts "4,000" active players. Pathetic

For a game that's all about a massive universe, unexplored worlds and bounty hunters and traders and explorerers.

There's not a whole lot of people in this universe.

The game fell from a 11k average base, which is meh, down to barely 4,000.

And yet Frontier reduces and needs and adds timesinks.

I'll give them credit, this game is a sinking ship but it's not going down as fast as I thought it would.

But that ten year plan they had for ED would be a miracle if it even made it halfway.

I hope the player base collapses just so FD can wake up and save this game because it does have potential, it always has and will, but they never utilized it.

Maybe some of them are beta testing....

Also, Steam numbers can't count players who don't use Steam (and there's no requirement for players on PC to do so, I don't for example) or XB1 players.

Well if you don't support something, don't help fund it. Money is the universal language these days.
Personally I'm done spending cash on ED until they put in stuff that is worth spending cash on.

Meanwhile I'll wait for SC, which should come around in about 50 years.

Twitch numbers have dropped quite a bit now, too. Every now and then a big streamer will bring it back over 200 viewers. There are some days where NMS has more viewership. :(

But not surprising given the shallowness of the gameplay.

We're now at the stage where high-level play = ship preservation and screenshots of pretty planets from long voyages.

That's pretty much it.

But hey, stick with the game. Soon you will be able to walk around your ship. That'll bring the players back. [uhh]

It always makes me laugh when someone quotes steam as the be all and end all of games popularity...

Plus, it seems that in the last 10 minutes that has jumped up by a thousand players...

Well that's because it's a pretty damn boring game to watch. It's one of those games you need to play to enjoy and understand it. The streamers themselves are usually what bring the numbers to Elite viewership, not really the game itself. I tried to stream it to people I know and they all tuned out pretty quickly, frankly stuck around just to support the stream.

As far as Steam numbers... Doesn't really make a difference. It only shows popularity on Steam... and if you look at the type of games that are popular on Steam, it all makes sense.

Someone said it in another thread, im just gonna borrow it...God this forum is depressing.

I might follow in the OPs sophisticated footsteps, create a forum account on a game i dislike and just say "this game sucks!" and move on.

Bye, I doubt people will mourn your loss.

Don't you have something more important to do with your time?

Edit: seriously if you guys don't like it, go and play something else. Please.
