ED Still worth my time ?

So i left a while ago because all my friends are gone and i had nobody to play with.

Is the game still worth investing time in it ?
Is horizon worth it ?

I stopped before they released the corvette and i did save quite a few billions to buy it. So in terms of money im covered.

Im just worried that there is nobody left to play this game with.

Anyone ?

Well i was just afraid that the game might be dead. Empty. I dont want to buy horizon to realize that every planets are the same but with a reskin. Instead of lava its a geyser. You know.

From what ive seen its look pretty boring to land on a planet.

One Word ..................... YES!!

Only you can say if it worth it for you or not.

My advice is to browse the forums ad don't be shy to read some of the complaint threads to get an idea of some of the changes etc

well how about knitting some socks and coming back a bit later when the game maybe potential less boring for you. Believe me this is good advice you can never have enough socks and as bonus you could give some as Christmas presents people always like that

Horizons adds a lot of valuable gameplay.
If you are the type who wants friends to play with then I suggest joining a player group. Lots that have their own chat channels, webpages, etc.

If you intend to play as a pirate dont bother, all you will see is that nice cargo you just limpet out of your victim blow up and turn too spacedust.... Why frontier, WHY????!!!!

I had a long break for about 6 months, i came back about 4 months ago and I'd say it's vastly improved and just feels better now.
I might have the odd little moan but overall, it's more than worth getting back into it. Feels like a whole load of people have done the same as I meet a lot more human commanders now than I did a year ago :)

I think asking questions like these are pointless.
You are the only one who can decide whether the game is worth your time.

The only thing I can say is that I feel ED gets better and better with every new update.
ED certainly is worth my time. I am addicted to it.
I buy new games, play them for an hour or so, and then return to ED to play that the rest of the afternoon.

For you it seems to be about the multiplayer part.
Can't judge that at all as I don't care about it in the slightest.
Even in open I play solo.

Yes, it's absolutely worth it. Horizons has already added a lot so far.

No, it's not dead. Fairly obvious given how active these forums are.

Depends on what you're looking for. Generally speaking, the people who say "that looks boring" will find it boring. The planets differ massively from each other, the procedural generation is fantastic. But if you're not really into space itself but more into sci-fi as a backdrop to action gameplay it wont be for you. A somewhat easy way to look at it is to answer this question: Do Mars and the Moon look like boring re-skins of each other to you?

Horizons still offers a ton of gameplay though if you dont really care for space itself, just read up on it.

Planet gameplay is still rather barebones in my opinion, but every patch and update adds more stuff.
I've personally had a blast looking for the ancient ruins last week.

The new passenger missions (while basically just 'bring stuff from A to B') also add new options and new choices.
The new spaceport interiors and some of the planetary bases are a joy to behold and the first time you see one of the updates neutron stars... wow.

As you already own the game, you can easily determine for yourself whether there are enough players playing to satisfy your requirements in that regard - there's no need to buy Horizons to play the game. After that, you could decide whether or not to purchase Horizons.

Simply put, "Yes" it is worth it. Actually with 2.2 landing Horizons is now worth its money for those that have had to buy it.

But landing on planets boring, No sure isnt. Went out to the ancient ruins found by another Cmdr the other day, It was awe inspiring as it came into sight. Planetary landings are fun, and add a bit more variance to the game instead of always landing in orbiting space stations.

That question depends entirely on you. Many people will say yes, many people will say no, only you can decide how YOU feel.

Mh, I wonder if these threads are fake or not. It never came to my mind asking a forum whether a game is worth playing or not.
I watched trailers, let´s plays on youtube and whatnot IF I was unsure (which didn´t happen often).

Simple answer is no, absolutely lack of exploration (they even locked to visit some of the nebulas and whole stars regions), nothing to do in game after you approach 1Billion. They could add POI's to planets, caves, crash sites investigations, etc, but no... May be FD need to take some lessons or webinar at least, from Subnautica Team, with their every month updates.
