ED VR Gun Turret - Missed Opportunity?

I was thinking about how rubbish the multicrew gunner position is in this game, with its really silly 3rd person view, and came to the conclusion this is one of the game's biggest missed opportunities. Imagine a full VR turret for a moment. Shame Frontier didn't, but imagination has long since left the building for them.

Same, I was using the turret on the SRVs and thought about how much better they felt than the silly 3rd person stuff in ships.
