ED VR Jaw Dropping!

Just got my Oculus Rift today and am stunned by how good Elite Dangerous is in VR. Made for VR alright - FD I believe you! The sheer scale of everything - awesome, I could even see my suit decals [haha] I don't think I can EVER go back to using Head Tracking again! If you are reading this and thinking of making the jump - do it, you will not regret it.

I've actually got it running without lag etc., on a GTX960 whilst waiting for my new graphics card.

Fraking awesome.

I'm finding it impossible to play any normal monitor game after being in ED VR for about a year now. Which is both a good and a bad thing. Good because everyday feels like going to work for NASA, bad because I don't like a lot of the games mechanics. I know for a fact Star Citizen has made VR their lowest priority so that will be a decade to come.

I really wish there was more to the game though. Because I love space and there is no other space game on VR as good yet.

I first got VR working on a 5 year old system with a Radeon HD 7970, even that blew me away - you do have to manage expectations though - the graphics can never be as pin sharp as 4k monitor - not yet anyway.

Not sure what card you've got on order but that will likely drop your jaw when you get to crank up the settings again.

Oh and do the tutorials - that Ice asteroid field is fantastic. :D
