ED won't shut down

When I exit Elite I get stuck with a black screen. I have to open Task Manager and shut it down manually.

This was very common back in the beta and gamma phases for me. Been ok since release though, it does take some time for the black screen to finally close. Ticket it!

Used to happen to me all the time in Gamma, but it's gone away now. Ticket it.

Nah, I've left it on for hours a few times... it never shut down.

Was also common for me me Gamma, but now its fixed for me.

Any further thoughts or suggestions? Nice to know others have had this problem, but how do I resolve it?
