Here it comes, FD
EVooPs,
Yet another idea humbly offered: When you want to do a Conflict Zone, or have a Battle Zombo.com Arena, there needs to be one very important thing.
Both 'sides' need to have a R/R in-instance. That's ReArm/Repair without having to Jump out. Limits and such can be applied to 'balance'.
Can you 'do' two docking stations in one Instance? What are the limits of your framework?
Then, the 'event', being the overall universe instance, needs to be consistent for the objective but allow everyone, or any single one, to contribute.
That means one very important thing, if anyone can imagine what I'm talking about.
No single Solo/Open Wing will be able to Destroy a Capital Ship/Outpost/Station as an individual/group event, in their 'instance'.
When the objective is complete: the Boss is destroyed, (which by the way, should result in an Ownership/Faction/System change in the background thing'ma'jig) one sides 'Base' is only Destroyed once, for the Universe. If you happen to be playing an instance of the event live at this time, you will experience the finality of the climatic space battle as the Mother Ship denotes after a system wide Alert is issued to clear the blast area.
Perhaps this alert could be an email to CMDR's accounts. And participation would swell for the battle.
CMDR's would que and enter a slice of the battle, complete with a Docking Station for each side. Then can stay or leave as long they want. But their time spent in the Zone, is recorded for the event. This can be used in the Mission Progress pages for feedback to the CMDR's and GalNet.
The list of awesome could/should-be features goes on and on. I love E
and I don't want the lack of a AAA PvP/PvE experience to the heel of the Elite Universe.
Thanks,
C

Oh, the first time you jump in, you don't have a Side to dock with. But, once you choose your faction (via #4 panel), and Dock, you are then Registered with the side.
That's means you can't dock at the other Sides base. Even if you jump away and come back.
As the battle progress, you will always have a safe Dock and save. That is until the Battle comes to a end.
