Two things to consider there, for a feature request...
1. Surely it's useful to know there is a settlement you might be able to use, as a prompt to go look in-game and find out why it says "unknown?"
2. Given this is all volunteer data and we find holes in it all the time, appreciate you need some defensive coding so bad data doesn't break EDDiscovery, but on the other hand, if it's survivable data, I think being optimistic about whether the human will want it would be preferable. This is a discovery tool... so if you have partial data, show the partial and mark it partial?
