EDDLite is a Windows Application which assists you in piloting in the Elite Dangerous universe. It can update the community websites with your commander progress, has a screen shot capture, and has hot buttons to jump to various community sites.

It allows you to upload this data to the following sites automatically to keep them updated with your exploits
  • Inara
  • EDSM
  • EDDN
  • EDAstro
It also allows you to go directly to the relevant page on EDSM, Inara or Spansh for your system and location. You can go directly to Corolis or ED Shipyard with your current ship build.

It has a screen shot converter to allow the .bmp files to be converted to other formats automatically.

EDDLite is Elite Dangerous Discovery little brother - it builds on EDD technology but provides a simpler and smaller solution for commanders wishing to have just these features available. It also used much less memory since it has a lot less features:
  • Data storage is less than 1MB on your C drive.
  • Memory use is <50MB
  • Does not store user logs or star data on your disk so it has low disk usage - perfect for your HDDs.
EDDLite works on the PC.

I'm pleased to see people using EDDLite - I'm not getting much feedback on it, probably because it just works! (hopefully). Here are the EDDN stats giving some idea of the use of the EDCD programs

I had no idea you had a thread for the Lite tool, nice!
I'm sorry I did post a request on the EDD's thread.

I was just asking what was the use of updating, and more important it could be nice not to spam each lunch with update request (an option maybe? or a checkbox "don't prompt anymore" or something of this kind?
The tool is working perfectly as it is, and I'm not in updating if there is no gain and maybe issues/bugs or anything else; this is why i'm asking for what's new.

I've encountered a few issues for some time now:
* all journal readings are doubled since v2.0

as you can see on timestamps, it's all doubled, it may be chat text, mission info, combat details, trading, etc...
getting this on v2.3 too but because of the next issue i'm still using v2.0.

* on version 2.3 i'm getting a weird loop, no idea what's going on, it starts on any event after app start. it's some kind of EDDN failure info sending.
i'm getting this one randomly.

I am not seeing that with the latest, but i'll double check.

How Update 14 and EDDLite will work.

As you probably know, Frontier are splitting the galaxy: Legacy galaxy and Live galaxy.

EDDLite, unlike EDD, does not keep a history of your endeavours. But we need to be able to tell EDDN which galaxy you are playing in, so that they can decide to use that data or not.

Version 2.5 of EDDLite will send additional data to EDDN (gameversion and build of ED) so that listeners can tell which galaxy the data is coming from (sounds very Star Treky!).

Please upgrade to this version when released.

EDDN listeners won't be using any data from EDDLite 2.4 inclusive and below after the release of update 14.
