EDH 8bpc or 12bpc?

for the last few days I've been trying to get the stuttering to decrease. so far to no avail. while doing this I noticed a colour setting, default 8bpc. option to change it to 12bpc. info is hard to come by regarding this settings. so I dared to try it out.
my display settings 1920 x 1080p which is a 3dtv.
I am quite surprised at the new range of colours. 60billion :)
it could be just my imagination but everything is so much better.
not sure if will show as 12bpc on a screen that's not set at 12bpc.
nv control panel/ change res/ scroll to bottom.
can someone else check it out and post result :)

More likely monitor specific. Most monitors are 8 bit color, quite a few of the high end monitors are going to 10 bit. Not sure about 12 bit but these might be monitors designed for photo rendering.

Yeah its monitor specific. 10bit is kinda rare, 12bit is basically unheard of except for very high end content creation monitors.

The biggest difference you'll notice is on shading, there will be less banding on a 10bit display as it has a wider colour gamut, IIRC.
