Discussion EDHM themes

I'm new to EDHM so I've only had a play with the themes that come with the tool.

My question is, for EDHM users, what theme do you use (and why if I may be so bold)?

I want to try and find one that retains stuff like enemy colours but is relaxing on the eye. I currently use the "mocha" edit to the ColourConfigurationOverride.xml file:

<MatrixRed> 0.7, 0.08, -0.08 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 0, 1, 1 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 0.15, -0.15, 1 </MatrixBlue>

As you'll no doubt know, this just tones down the day-glo orange of the default.

Any input most appreciated! Thanks!

Take one and modify it. It's what I wound up doing.

What I did was just try each theme one at a time until I found the base color I liked for all the windows and menus. Once I found that, I used the customizer to change the colors on everything else to what I wanted.

If you look at the center area of the app, you'll see little squares with items in them. Those are the different areas of the hud you can customize. In each area, you can highlight the color and change it to anything you want.

If you really want to go all in, you should just look at the web colors charts and pick some colors you think you're going to like and just pick any theme and start changing the colors.

Later this morning when I can get downstairs to the big unit I'll help you out if you need me to. I'll have some downtime today until @CMDRQuainMarln gets back so I can retrieve my Anaconda and core mining Python.

Thanks! Actually, I'd never looked at the tweaking options but, now I have, and it does look to be quite obvious as to what I need - I'll have a play! (y)

Rather than find one theme I am trying to set up themes tailored to specific rolls if not unique themes for each ship, using EDHM-UI with its shipyard facility.

I use EDHM-UI now. You don't have to edit numbers of files and there is much more variety and control over the color of different cockpit elements. You can also refresh the colors without exiting the game just by pressing F11.

Hey mate, welcome aboard! EDHM is built on the assumption that you have the default XML colour matrix, otherwise the RGB colours you choose for each element won't represent your colour preferences. The ColourConfigurationOverride.xml essentially alters the inputs into the system, and EDHM changes the colours based on the HSV of default Elite.

If you'd like to replicate your XML matrix for the station/carrier panels or other elements, then set your ColourConfigurationOverride.xml to default, and insert your XML settings into EDHM UI Panel settings

Having a bit of trouble with the update. I have multiple drives, and it installs the new version to the root system drive instead of one of my slave drives where I have my game located. EDHM GUI runs fine, but the themes are all missing. I assume this is because the new version is installed in a different location than the old version where the themes were stored. The install program does not give an option to select an install location. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
