Editing the graphics configuration file

Nothing works, it has no effect at all. Have tried editing the file, nothing. Tried using the over ride file, nothing. Downloaded a preset file from Reddit, nothing. Have deleted the file and verified to download the original, still nothing. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't know balls about programming etc., but when I changed my hud colours, there can be two locations for the XML file in the game, depending on whether you run it through steam or not.

I can't tell you the locations atm I'm afraid as I'm on my phone, but one is in the generic userapp folder iirc.

My point being that the first time I changed mine, I got the wrong folder, and changing the XML had no effect - but trying again with the other one worked perfectly.

Hopefully someone will be able to let you know if this is the case, and give you the complete info to do what you want.

So here's what I did, and it works great for me. Your mileage may vary. I am using steam, which may or may not change things.

  1. I navigated to %localappdata% (important that it's local, not roaming)
  2. I went into \Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics
  3. I have a file there, which I may have created or it may have already been made for me, called GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml. I put my XML in there
