EDMC outputs your ship loadout to E:D Shipyard

I keep finding new things I love. So many people have added so much great stuff around ED and thanks to them for it.

While clicking on things to see what happens I discovered this. EDMC can output your ship config including engineering mods to ED shipyard and get a URL you can share. How cool is that?!?

That's my exploring ship I'm using at the moment. I'm doing the rest when I get near a shipyard.

I have never bothered manually adding all my mods into Coriolis and while it's a really great tool, adding all the mods is just too fiddly for me.

For what it's worth, it does the same with Coriolis, well did, it's been a bit iffy since the 3.0 update. Some things giving errors, but the team is few and it takes lots of time to work around updates and patches, props to EDShipyard for getting theirs working fine now.

Gotta admit when I first saw about EDMC and got it all hooked up, I was so impressed with how I could link it to Inara, EDShipyard/Coriolis and EDSM.

Honestly, I can't give enough praise and props to the 3rd party toolmakers of ED, they really make the game so more involving. From EDDI, VA, the wavescanner sites, the HUD colour sites, EDDB, other places that have suddenly slipped my mind (I'm knackered). Massive thanks to you all. Can't forget the helpful YouTubers and Community of course, but this isn't about them. :p

Obviously appreciation needs to go to Frontier also, many Devs these days close off their game to direct 3rd party linkage, so for them to be as open to community involvement makes it all great.

I'll see if I can do that in Coriolis too. I clicked the ship link and it automagically popped up in E:D shipyard.

It really is good of FD to publish the API. All the tools available really add so much. I have the materials library app open all the time I'm collecting or engineering. EDSM is great and even has badges :D, EDDB makes trading possible with the route plotter and goodness knows how I'd find anything without it. I was using a Cannons interactive ruins maps earlier which is saving probably months of searching for that information. Without all the tools probably still be trading 4t of water per run in my sidewinder to the next nearest station from where started.

Am I the only one who's EDMC ship-export data is only saved as .txt now - and Coriolis is unable to import those. Changing .txt to .json manually does not help. Any advice?

Thanks i didn't know that !

I was always playing with Coriolis manually. Now things are really better and easier !

Importing Your Ship Into Coriolis
Often, you will want to start with your existing ship in Coriolis and see how particular changes might affect it, for example upgrading your FSD. There are a number of tools that can be used to import your ship without you having to create it manually. This has the added benefit of copying over any engineering modifications that have taken place as well.

Importing Your Ship From EDDI

To import your ship from EDDI first ensure that your connection to the Frontier servers' companion API is working. To do this check the 'Companion App' tab where you should see "Your connection to the companion app is operational". If not then follow the instructions in the companion app tab in EDDI to connect to the Frontier servers. Once you have a working companion API connection go to the 'Shipyard' tab. At the right-hand side of each ship is an 'Export to Coriolis' button that will open your default web browser in Coriolis with the ship's build. Note that Internet Explorer and Edge might not import correctly, due to their internal restrictions on URL length. If you find that this is the case then please change your default browser to Chrome. Also, the imported information does not provide any data on the power priority or enabled status of your cargo hatch. Coriolis sets this item to have a power priority of "5" and to be disabled by default. You can change this after import in the Power Management section.

Importing Your Ship From EDMC
To import your ship from EDMC once your connection to the Frontier servers' companion API is working go to 'Settings ->Configuration' and set the 'Preferred Shipyard' to 'Coriolis'. Once this is set up clicking on your ship in the main window will open your default web browser in Coriolis with the ship's build. Note that Internet Explorer and Edge might not import correctly, due to their internal restrictions on URL length. If you find that this is the case then please change your default browser to Chrome.

Ah, thank you. In the older versions one had to manually export and import that json file from your ship. I didn't know this was automated by just clicking on the ship now. Still at the moment this seems to have issues, related to the new engineers. Bug reports on GitHub are there. I think guys at Coriolis are working on it.
