Cycle Recap:
Last cycle was interesting, to say the least. It was smooth sailing for the first six days, and indeed for most of the seventh. But starting around twelve hours before cycle turnover and lasting until the end, we experienced a massive amount of undermining which, all told, was worth close to 2,000 CC had it not been countered.
But it WAS countered. In part, due to good planning and having a significant amount of systems in reserve ready to be fortified with a fairly small merit investment - We started Wednesday night with a CC buffer of close to 800 before we'd need to fortify more than our planned 'safety valve' systems. In part, due to many people putting in an amazing effort through the night to keep up with the undermining - Because when you get hit with 2,000 CC worth of undermining in the span of a few hours, an 800 CC buffer is not enough.
But most of all, it was due to recieving early warning of the severity of the attack from the Mahon XBox community, who not only got the word out to start fortifying again before we might otherwise have caught on, but also proceeded to wing up, engage the underminers (who were almost exclusively on the XBox side), and eventually completely scatter the attackers. Without that, we would probably have avoided turmoil, because we're pretty good at fortifying when it comes down to it. But we would almost certainly have lost our third expansion, and we would have had to spend far more credits to stay on top of it. And of course, we would not have known who was doing it.
But because of the XBox community, we DO know who was behind it. What we intend to do about it, well... that is a matter still being discussed.
So indeed, it was an interesting cycle. But in the end, we stayed out of turmoil, got three of our four expansions (and were the only power to successfully expand), and managed to hit a sweet spot of CC where we can both get good preparations and keep the number of them manageble. In short: Great success!
And that'll do for the recap. The current fortification, expansion and preparation priorities are as follows:
---
Fortification - Low priority:
Last Update: 2015/12/16 21:56 Game Time
Remember: Fortifying above 100% does nothing.
---
Preparations - High priority:
Please spend nominations on the listed systems, and avoid preparing anything not listed.
Note: GCRV 2743 is a former Li Yong-Rui control system they lost due to turmoil. Our current impression is that they're happy to be rid of it and do not intend to take it back, which is why it is on this list. However, if they change their mind on that (or if it turns out we merely misread them), it may be replaced with a different system at some point during the cycle.
Note: IP 54536 is slightly lossmaking, but is one of the better systems left in our volume of space. Because of this, and the fact that if we don't take that, we will almost certainly end up with something far worse instead, we consider it worth the 1 CC hit to get that system.
---
Expansion - Medium priority:
Note: To help expand Benanekpeno, you need a ship capable of landing on Medium-sized pads. The largest is the Python, but ships like the Asp or the Type 6 also work well. If you are in a medium ship, consider prioritizing Benanekpeno over fortifications or preparations, since people in larger ship cannot do it.

As always, the above are merely suggestions and not orders - The Alliance is not a military organization and pilots are free to pursue their own goals, but we definitely appreciate all the help we can get.
I will try to update the numbers in this post at least once per day, so check back regularly for updated priorities.
