EDO: Fines after being killed but pirates in mission

Can someone explain me please why I got 100k fine after being killed by criminals in a mission when I was trying to power up the base?
Because I managed to kill one of criminals?
or because I grabbed one Med Kit during fight? ( was no 'illegal' sign near the med kit item )
or because I have failed the mission as a result of my character death.... ?
Reason of death was stated 'Piracy'.... really!!!?

I'm sorry but angry video game nerd is extremely relevant at the moment because fdev seems to want to be the next LJN

You have failed the mission if you were killed while on base, and were fined 100,000cr as a result. It's dumb.

I probbaly withold playing before all this will iron out. Yes I can absorb this s**t with my wallet, but for a beginner..... yeah good luck

You're given a power regulator to complete the mission with.

Mission fails.

You still have a power regulator.

Trust me. 100k for a power regulator is cheap and fast. You've won. Take it.

The crime and punishment is broken.

The crime and punishment is broken.
Crime is fine. Just the punishment is broken. :p

Or, well, it is and it isn't. It kind of always worked like this. Death sentence for bad parking or actually any misbehaviour, big fines for failing a mission and then more fines when you get caught with mission cargo that is now marked stolen. All these things are in the game for years, why is it suddenly a problem?

Crime is fine.
You'll reconsider, when you are asked to kill the scavengers on an abandoned base as a bonus on a restore mission. And when you start shooting them with a SRV/ship you get a fine.
And then the settlement turns red upon activating, and you have everything shooting you, because the turrets are telepathic or something and knows you are a criminal scum. So you have to disable them, and kill the drones before they kill you. Which then add more fines.
Oh and they'll start dropping soldier on you. Who shoots you. So you either kill them (more bounty, and they are way stronger than the regular pirate), or run.

And all you did was shoot the people you were tasked to kill. Wanted people.

And no, that's not an exaggeration.

Umm... Maybe kill the people BEFORE you help them activate their defence grid?
Or hack the turrets to target them, not you?

They don't activate it. You do. But you have a fine. So you are hostile to it.

That's the point of restore mission, the base is disabled you need to put a new core in the power plant.

You are literally hostile to the faction who gave you the mission because you had the audacity to shoot the people they asked you to shoot.

Know why ? Because it's a non fire zone. And using ship/srv weapon is a crime. Except it's abandoned. And you are there to fire on those people.

Are you truly asking me a question? Its always been a problem-I'd say the majority of people have been mining for the past year or so and not dealing with missions, because the risk to reward isn't worth it.

That does seems a little janky, I'll agree to that

I'm just going to say it.... you inadvertently run afoul of C&P because you're bad at the game.

100k Cr for failing a mission (an a possible bounty if you fail to pay it) it's just dumb.
You failed to live up to your end of the contract. The faction wants you to pay, one way or the other.
Don't want to be extorted or hunted by bounty hunters, don't sign on the dotted line and then fail to deliver.

Nothing is ever good enough for people.
"I shouldn't get a bounty for accidentally shooting the police!"
"Why should a 200 Cr bounty be a death sentence!?"
"100,000 Cr is too high for a bounty!"

As I stated previously, don't be bad at the game and (bugs aside) you won't get bounties that you didn't somehow earn. If you do earn a bounty, simply fly to an interstellar factor and clear it.

People make millions upon millions of credits per day in this game. You can transport 150T of cargo from point A to point B for 5 Million... Ten minutes of "work". But having to pay a 100k fine because you failed a mission is too much?

It would be incredibly different if I wasn't getting disconnected, losing settlement authority, regulators, or being unable to turn it in due to the servers failing.

Getting fined for shooting the people you are asked to shoot is wrong and should be fixed. No excuses.

As to getting rid of fines, interstellar factors are bugged, and don't always clear them (it's around 50/50% chance I can use them to clear the fines).
