EDO FPS - Q for CMDRs

I'm interested in the First Person Perspective Play. It looks promising at the moment, but will really need to see more to judge correctly.

I'm not currently playing any FPS, but have played the Half Life games, Unreal, Marathon games, Quake, Doom etc.

What I'm happy about is that Odyssey looks like its doing something completely different and looks to be very much integrated into the rest of the game. Basically it's not a FPS, it a First Person Do Whatever You Like With it.

1. Positive. For me the info in livestream was more impressive than the (rehearsed) demo on it's own.

2. Dredd v Death. (Freeze perp!)

As could have been expected, there are two camps of opinion regarding EDO's FPS play. It's bad, or it looks good/promising. What has been revealing is the people who are in the less-than-excited camp, tend to pick apart what about the FPS play they don't like the look of. This lends me to believe they play FPS games. The other camp that is optimistic, is made more-so of people who openly don't/haven't played FPS, or don't have much to say beyond they think/hope it'll be good.

Which leads me to my Q for CMDRs; Is your general opinion of EDO FPS negative, neutral or positive, and what FPS(s) are you currently playing?

Me - Negative / Deep Rock Galactic

I remain open minded, and I've played a LOT of FPS games since the original Quake, single player and multiplayer. Sure, this demo was a little rough in places, but it is based on a pre-alpha and clearly not the version we'll see on 29 Mar, nor reflective of updates that would likely be added prior to release in (late?) May. The Devs were very clear on this in the livestream I thought.

And I never expected this to be an FPS experience on par with the best FPS around on today's hardware, anyway. Anyone who ever expected that was deluded from the start. This merely provides on-foot gameplay to expand on the existing ship-based gameplay, giving more variety in what we can choose to do in any one play session. And remember we haven't seen anything of substance on the non-FPS on-foot gameplay yet (here's hoping Dev Diary 4 covers some of this).

There is no rule that says that people who don't like the on-foot implementation need to participate on any level at all, so to those who don't like it....don't play it. Simples. Those of us who will end up liking it will get on just fine without you.

Trying to stay neutral, I want to point out the good and the bad. people should remember that if you give a good suggestion how to change something, the chance of FDEV actually listen is pretty high.

Mostly neutral: I currently play Elite because I like the flying spaceships aspect, the Elite Feet content could end up being good or it could very well be terrible, probably won't affect how much I enjoy the flying spaceships part.

I'm current playing Titanfall 2, BF4 and Halo MCC. I have also just started playing Destiny 2 again, as I had dropped it when they announced the whole "sunsetting" thing.
