EDO stutter then hard crash to desktop

hi
I have being doing a bit of horizons which was working ok... however I just updated ED:O and it is jumping all over the place. my headset keeps cutting off with blue screen before the whole thing inevitably crashes.
other apps seem ok.
I have checked all connections
horizons works fine.

I am just downloading new NV drivers now.

never experienced this before.

settings
VR ultra (also happens on VR high)

system RTX 3090 with AMD 5800x
reverb G2 headset.

has anyone had this and managed to fix?
thanks
edit. early days as I had to stop playing but as default the reverb G2 is set for open XR to be handled by windows MR software.

I went into steamVR and changed it so that openXR was handled by steamVR

both settings work on horizons 3.8 but (touch wood) changing this setting seems to have improved things.

hmmmm went back to elite tonight... it ran flawless in space which was why i thought switching to steamvr for open XR worked but as soon as i got close to the planet.............. a few big stutters then a blue screen (literally not a BSOD) then crash to destop.
its not a performance thing, it was lovelly and smooth until the crash.

i unplugged the G2 and went to flat screen and it worked ok so something is not playing nice. whether it is a conflict between oculus software and my reverb i do not know but no other game gives me an issue, and horizons is ok.
i figure it is an edge case somewhere as other wise someone else with a g2 would have had issues. :/

next test will be to try my quest 2 but too tired now.

Old psu?
Revert driver?
psu is fine , I was on an old driver and have updated . no change. this has happened sometime in the last couple of ED:O updates

edit......... really early days but filling in here for prosperity incase someone else has this problem.

i swapped a bunch of usb devices around , logged in to my SRV on planets surface and it blue screened in my headset then hard exited before even putting me in my vehicle - ie seemed to be worse!. normally i get a few seconds of it jumpoinig all over the shop before kicking the bucket.

i unplugged my X56 stick and tried again........ it seemed to work but i was meant to be getting my lad ready for school and me for work!. still i got 2 mins out of it and it was flawless and smooth. (and i got 6 units of Selenium whilst testing so that was a boon!). It would appear it is a combination of my AMD motherboard usb being a bit weak on the power front - a known issue - combined with the high power draw of the reverb G2 (also a known problem) and my X56 flight stick.

my flight stick is now in a separate pcie usb3 card but not had time to test. fingers crossed it works however as a decent stick 2ndary only to VR in elite for me. will post back confiormation once i know.

its strange tho. this rig has been rock stable since getting the upgraded reverb G2 cable, even in EDO so it would seem to be something since update 13 which is pushing the power envelope a little more or is more fussy about usb power blips.

next edit....
Hopefully have sorted it.
Ultimately for what ever reason I can no longer use my G2 on any of my motherboard usb 3 ports. its only ED:O it gives issues with but the crash is almost instant.
on top of that even with the G2 in my PCIE USB3 card, as soon as i plug my X55 stick in to my PC using the onboard USB3, it crashes, almost instantly.

But i played for an hr last night without any crashes, with my G2 in my PCIE usb3 and my X56 stick in my onboard USB2.

why it has suddenly started now, and why it is only on ED:O i have no idea, but unless i post back again, i think i have a solution.

I have put some more time into this now and am confident that using open composite (openXR beta) 100% fixes this problem and improves performance so there is zero reason not to use it.
I dont know why (on my machine at least) steamVR is utterly unplayable on ED:O - it is ok on everything else even ED:H, but regardless it does not really matter.

i forgot i had accidentally deleted open composite whilst doing some housekeeping and i went into ED:O last night. Terrible performance, and a crash within 5 mins.. back to Open composite (openXR) and it was fine again.
