Hunting for a good RES spawn for the Persephone CG (turns out there is 6 or 7 great ones in a system 12LY's away, minimal spoilers. I get there, and squat. . .an Adder. . .then a Hauler, . .a viper (which, of course, was a pain in the behind.) So I boost 3 or 4 k above the "RES line" and quit to menu, join another instance. It's here I realize I'm not the only one doing this (in a CG, mind you), there are likely dozens, if not hundreds of us, right here, trying to find "the" instance. (You know what I'm talking about.) But, when I get there, shouldn't I expect 3, 4, 11 commanders there, doing the same thing to find the right instance? Immersion broken dammit, gotta re-focus. I finally got the "instance" I wanted, and 13 players weren't around. No competition, just cleaned house.
On the way out, got me some bounties, time to re-arm, I boost out of the mass lock, and give one last scan before hitting SC. I, somehow, found the FIRST npc FDL I've ever seen! I jumped back to controls ASAP to cancel SC command, but was .2 sec's too late. Countdown. "No wait!, I want to go back and check him out!" What's the use though, He's gone, into the instance ether.
I cannot help but feel instances should be universally randomized. Not 4 different "Spawns" to spam until I get the only one that matters. An Eagle, Then a Master Python, Then a Novice Adder, Then an Elite Clipper. But for everyone, every instance.
Rant #2:
Powerplay anticipation (Just. Can't. help. it. . .)
Those concerned that their "minor faction" will lose clout in the new universe: Get some friends, turn your favorite minor faction into a powerhouse, over weeks, or months of roleplaying, and EARN your "tag".
Courier: Turns out it is smaller and cheaper than we (mostly) anticipated. I'm okay with this. There is a gap after Cobra, pricewise, to the next ship. Empire loyalists get another bragging right, "I have an in between, the Courier, gorgeous too! 2.8 million credits, what did the Feds offer you while grinding to the Vulture, or Asp?
Boredom: Come on guys, don't give up NOW. On the dawn's eve of a complete RPG revamp. At least don't start "I'm quitting" threads today, start one next week that says "I successfully quit one week ago.", because frankly, we don't believe you. A 10 year plan means I, personally, will be back frequently. Go play H1Z1 on steam for a few hours, you'll be back. . .Maybe not tomorrow or next week, but truly, see you soon.
