Efficiently building navy rank (Feds)

I'm Post Capitan and trying to get to Rear Admiral so I can buy a Corvette. I only have 40% left to go.

I'm already allied with all the Fed factions at Sothis/Ceos. Is there any point continuing to do missions there, will they continue to build my navy rank or does the rank stop increasing once you hit allied?

I'm trying to do that last 40% as efficiently as possible but struggling to find any missions that have a meaningful rank effect.

Any pointers to give me the edge appreciated.

I did data courier missions (and cargo whenever you have the space, just remember to leave 4 tonnes left for reward commodities) from Tun to 4 systems in the near vicinity (I think it was Hyperion, Alrai, LP-71-157, and Perendi). I've heard it was nerfed however. Just about a day (probably a bit less) total play time over the course of 5 days got me from 96% Lieutenant Commander to Rear Admiral.
