EGP Agent - New interiors, new chatter/ATC audio

Never heard of these guys before, but I just got interdicted by an EGP Agent, Elite NPC in a Sidewinder, in HIP 11263.

Seems like a powerplay faction from the interdiction, scan and "the boss likes me to check everyone who comes through here". Is the EGP old news?

Also, I've just docked at Hay Port, which is very nice. Listening to reports of pirate attacks & distress calls while typing this, it sounds great.

Nope. It's a new power that just got introduced with 2.2 Old news they are not.

Yes, the new audio parts are excellent as usual. It really adds life to the game. But so far, i have never heard of an EGP Agent, interdicting someone.
