Either inventory store or outfitting

Dear Frontier:

I would very much like either the ability to store inventory, even temporarily, in a station; or the ability to go to the "outfitting" screen on a ship in storage.

When I'm in a ship, and I've got a bunch of engineer materials in my inventory, and I would like to switch to another ship which doesn't have enough cargo; there's no way for me to expand that ships cargo without first dumping all my materials... which I don't want to do.

I can't be the only one.

You aren't. Even if the cargo or engineer bits and pieces stayed in the ship while you swap vessels would be something. Of course transfer of inventory in whole or part would be ideal.
