I'm guessing the OP is referring to his friendly status with the station and the message in the top left that says:

"Greetings, respected ally."

Green means that you are now friendly or allied with that station/faction within the system. That is not a new feature from the patch but a long term feature that has been in place since launch.

Didn't lave used to be an orbis? Which was strange, since it was THE coriolis station to many people.

Your standing with the controlling faction is 'Allied' so they give you a plesant greeting. You get the opposite when you visit a station that is 'hostile' to you.

No last time I saw this station it was an Orbis which didn't really sit well with a lot of people. I guess 1.04 finally fixed it!!!

Lave was an Orbis in Gamma but after Launch they made it a Coriolis the way it's supposed to be.

It was definitely a Coriolis in 1.03. I was there just yesterday.

Didn't you read the release notes for 1.04, evidently the station that was at Lave lost it's parent so it wandered off, it just now found it's way home.
