Either someone was abusing the trust-of / trust(s)-to&from Amazon / AmazonAWS-services,
or there's something wrong with researcher-kill missions -
I've had a LOT of anomalous / discrepant things happen to me over the years with ED,
but this one's a little unsettling - either there's something wrong with the researcher-kill missions ( factional-massacre category i think )
OR, there are few too few a amount of security features in the servers, for current-mission / map-data files.
During a researcher kill mission, apart from the 5 or so times i got a disconnection and i had to restart it,.. which may well not have all been due to someONE, ( someTHING )
multiple things happened that concerned me ;
Not only did ;
#1 after i specifically targeted a researcher AND NOT just-a-scientist in the Stall list on a terminal, it led me to a scientist instead, which was VERY weird, since it at-first appreared to be a researcher when-targeted, but then after i checked my number of kills in the mission after killing them, it was still zero,
so i then targeted the corpse,
and it was THEN, a scientist (but not a reasearcher as it had MOMENTARILY appeared to be) - almost like ... the tracking-a-target FROM the terminal SEQUENCE of programming, ADDED a label on-TOP-of ?? what the person would otherwise have-had/been, by default / normal loading -
SUGGESTION ; Code-check / test ; whether-or-not targeting VIA selection via staff lists during missions, loads 'its own' label for a human-target, RATHER than only loading the default for that actor? monster? whatever AI humans are called when they're loaded.
* sigh * Just let it do what it's MEANT-to-do, Frontier,.. if that's the case.
auto-target them,.. but DON'T load anything special if it doesn't need to be.

#1-2 This bizzare changing of WHAT the person was, mean that i was unlikely to finish my mission, so i got sick of it and cancelled it

#2 During all that, a terminal dissapeared DURING ONE of the restarts, from a part of the map that was low-security and i could get to easily, and HAD already in one of my previous attempts, but when i returned, was no longer there
#3 The mission's ability to be finished, seemed entierely f***ed - it specified "researchers at settlements belonging to _______" ( i won't say who, lets call the faction A)
So i had looked up nearby "settlements" ... within ANY (horizons and/or the new odyssey ones),
since there was no specification.
went there,.. this was BEFORE the above, in my first HOUR of attempting this nightmare of a mission...
killed more than the required 6, scientists (researchers amongst them),
but then thought after that did-nothing,
OK,.. could be specificaly researchers someWHERE,.. fair enough...
got up and out,.. found another one,.. still faction A,..
and checked it for being in the SYSTEM MAP,.. specifically a "Settlement" per the Horizons-default,
the ones that used-to-be-there before Odyssey anyway category (orbitals, settlemtents, etc )
( the one i'd already tried was an odyssey one - so this was now trying BOTH )
and then went to it, and did the rest i've already described including the staff-lists targeting of specifically a researcher
so that's
BOTH types of settlements, AND a mixture of scientists and researchers at BOTH.
and yes, it was faction A.

The bizzare switching of WHAT a corpse was AFTER i'd killed it, and the dissapearance of a terminal,
were too much to put down to normal 'bug' like events,
sorry Frontier.
Im considering this some kind of attack on the Amazon server.

I don't know HOW odyssey's been programmed, NOR by who,
but my wasted 2 hours here, was total bull****.
And i assume, like i have had to for years now,.. that you will not see it on the servers in the UK - this will probably only every happen on the OTHER SIDE of AMAZON AWS servers,.. where pro-federation scum abuse their 'nationalist' ? scoff compatriotship with Amazon, in a pathetically crude sort of way ... as in ... i'm a pro Hudson indiscriminant,.. and Amazon's American! yea brah!.. we're on the same side!
